DIN 84 slotted cheese head screws is a slotted drive machine screw with a cheese head. Machine screws are externally threaded fasteners designed to be mated with threaded nuts or tapped holes in the parts they are designed to hold together.

DIN84 A Slotted Cheese Head Machined Screws have a head that resembles an isosceles trapezoid and external machine screw threads; the “A” suffix indicates they are fully threaded.

The top and bottom of the head are flat and parallel and the sides are angled—the diameter at the top of the head is smaller than the diameter at the bottom of the head (Phillips cheese heads have a rounded top and straight sides). Cheese heads are smaller in diameter than like-sized pan heads (such as DIN 7985 A), which makes them desirable in situations where space is limited. Use with threaded holes and nuts.

Choose from Class 4.8 steel, zinc plated and plain finish (no rust protection); stainless steel; brass and nylon. Thread tolerance is 6g for plain finish and stainless steel and 6h for plated; right-hand threads are standard.

Screw length is measured from under the head to the tip. There may be variations in the head style.
