ISO 7089 plain washers, also named flat washers, without chamfer, are a thin disk with a concentric hole and are one of the most popular flat washers.  “Without chamfer” indicates that the outside edge on one side is not beveled.

When placed under a nut or the head of a screw, the washer increases the bearing surface area and consequently distributes the clamping force over a larger area. That result is desirable when working with soft materials and holes that are too large or oddly shaped to properly support the screw head or nut.

ISO7089 Flat Washers may be the same as DIN 125 A. DIN 433 is a smaller OD and DIN 9021 is a larger OD washer compared to DIN 125.
